No seond proffession necro is best :D
i have been playing for a few months on my necro and have come to the conclusion that having no second proffession is best.
i have blood power at 16
and soul reaping at 13
i can do anything i want with no disadvantage, what do u think????

i tend to agree. between blood and curses or blood and death i rarely have need for another profession when playing a necro.
but i always add a second profession. you don't want others guessing your game. keep them wondering.
but what the hell do you have soul reaping so high for? there are other ways to get energy.

lol... it REALLY depends on what you want to do...
for a minion master - pure necro is a good choice (although some choose N/Mo).
for blood spike - pure necro is once again usable (but still, some might use mesmer s secondary)
for AotL build - pure necro works.
now:
FoC spike - you need mesmer secondary.
order necromancer - you need monk secondary.
tainted necro - it's prefered that you go for ele secondary.
anti-warrior hex build - you better be mesmer secondary.
anti-caster hex build - you better be mesmer secondary.
anti-warrior melee build - warrior secondary.
BiP saccer - ele secondary (wards).
you get the picture.
P.S:
if any character is best alone, it would be the ranger...

i guess it's a spike build, but it isn't a very good one...
and FoC is "feast of corruption <e>", a very good spike skill, something like this:
1. parasitic bond
2. arcane echo
3. feast of corruption <e>
4. desecrate enchantements
5. rend enchantements
6. energy management/self heal (i like using either life syphon or vamp gaze)
7. awaken the blood
8. res sig
should be pretty self explanatory...

This would be more of a Melee Blood Spike variant. VT, DF and UF being the melee spells. It might be ok...if you play it right.

I would think you'd want to use Shadow of Fear rather than PB, or are you planning on someone else delivering the primary hex and you just covering it?...and then FoC spiking?

i find that my build works well if i support the warriors.
However i havent had ne problems because i am always dealing damage and gaining health. It is usually large damage as well. I cant see anythinng rong with it. thanx for ideas but i dont like a lot of hexxes or ne spells that sont haave veiwable affects. I find it works really well but im not trying to be arrogent

My Necro's that I play are Battery with some healthy damage support and i've found monk secondary is very helpful for all the health sacraficing i'm doing. I play an SS necro in PvP and Mesmer is a must for that. And I also solo with my Necro and Monk is a must for that. You can't do everything without a secondary. With easy things like basic playing through PvE, you can get by without one. But anything more complicated like soloing or PvP, then you really should have a secondary.
The developers spent a lot of time to balance things and make sure that no matter what way you are playing GW, you will be more powerful with a strong combination of skills from 2 classes rather than 1. And i've found that to be true. For a long time I tried to stay completely Necro because I was too lazy to deal with a whole set of another 75 skills. But I came to my senses, experimented, and realized that you are more powerful with some skills from another class that compliment yours. Things are purposely built this way so that you cant be more powerful on your own. No matter what you do on your own, there is always at least 1 skill from another class that will make you stronger.

Life Siphon is good for about the 1st half of the game. It's useless later on in PvE. Although some people use it in PvP. For the high energy cost, and only receiving +3 regen, I can think of better ways to use that slot. In the 2nd half of PvE, +3 regen isn't going to do much for you. I feel the same way about Life Transfer. For the 30 second recharge on that, it's just not worth it when there is other elites you can get a lot more use out of.

life siphon + life transfer gives u +9 healt regen and enemy -9 healt degen, and u can cast it fast and on each enemy and each 1 gives u +3 healt regen, so if u play it smart you won't even be needing healing in a battle , try suffering and rotten flesh all 4 at 1 character and that character will not know whats going on and take Conjure Phantasm (mesmer skill) and have fun watching your enemy die real fast
